Loved this Hotel. We visit Bar Harbor a lot and have stayed at different hotels and have even rented houses few times, West Street Hotel is the best we ever stayed at. Location is best, rooms are updated and very clean, great service. Will definitely consider this hotel as first preference when visiting Bar Harbor again.

This hotel has a great location, loved the common area on the floor for ice, coffee, drinks, etc., and the views from the balcony are gorgeous. The rooftop infinity pool is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the views... would stay here again. I have to say though that for the price, I would have given 5 stars had it not been for the poor food options and the service.

Ate at Paddy's. Horrible service and sub par food. Very disappointing...being an irish restaurant I had high hopes. P.s. that dried up peice of fish skin in my salad was not an anchoive. Overpriced and disappointing.

We were disappointed when we first set foot in our room... dirty duvet cover, sticky floors, hair on the bathroom floor, and a strong smell of bleach. We should have said something, but didn't because we were too tired after hiking all day. The next morning we showered (in a shower that was meant to be accessible, which we hadn't requested)... water flooded the whole bathroom. We finally asked the staff at the front desk for a new room, and gratefully they did find one for us, but never asked why we wanted to move nor seemed to show any interest in providing service that you would expect at a hotel with this price point. We heard others complaining at the front desk as well. The resort fee seemed exorbitant for a coffee machine that we shared with the floor which was always full of k-kups and needed to be cleaned, poured old coffee all over, etc. We spent more time cleaning the coffee station than enjoying our coffee. There was fruit one of the mornings, but it was mostly rotten. We've traveled many places around the world and this is the first bad review I've ever felt obligated to write. There are so many adorable and tidy looking motels in the area; I wish I would have done my research and stayed in one of them.... next time. :)

We were so happy to find this hotel! The location is perfect - it’s right on the water looking out at Bar Island. We stayed in a room on the 4th floor looking out on the Bay, and I’d highly recommend doing so. We had a lovely patio sitting area to enjoy sunrises & sunsets that felt just removed enough from all of the tourist activity. The staff is very friendly and professional and saw to our every need. Some amazing amenities that I never knew I needed (but really wished I had at every hotel since) included the complimentary laundry facilities (so amazing when you’re on a hiking trip making dirty, sweaty clothes every day) and the pantry area on our floor. In the middle of the hotel was a pantry that had water, coffee & tea 24/7. Also, fresh fruit in the mornings (it seemed to be there all day) and cookies after dinner. It was so nice to walk down the hall for a cup of coffee before breakfast and some tea before bed without having to call room service! The restaurants that are part of the resort (Paddy’s and La Bella Vita) are not great. The service wasn’t good at either (so bad at Paddy’s that the hotel comped our meal) and the food is so-so at best. The hotel does everything so well that it made the bad restaurants forgivable for us - hopefully, those will improve over time. I’m sure it’s hard to do both well. We’ll be back!

I loved that the hotel was pet friendly, although $75 per night is a bit steep for a 18lb dog. Comfortable beds. Great location.
