Hidden Gem It's clear that a lot of TLC has been put into the Blue Door, which sits in an attractive residential area within short walking distance of the downtown shops and restaurants. Parking on the street is available, and there is a coded door which provides access to the Inn. The entrance opens into an elegant commons room and breakfast area, and the bedrooms are located upstairs. The bathrooms are shared between the guests — a full bath upstairs with bathtub, and a full bath downstairs with shower. Hospitality is front and center here. I was greeted with refreshments when I arrived, and there is a self—service cafe upstairs. The sitting room has games, books, and music, as well as local information on the area. There's also decanted wine available to tempt you in the evenings. A hearty, homecooked breakfast is also available.

Attentive service, comfortable bed, relaxed but thoroughly appointed. Definitely the place to stay in Baker City. Morning organic French press coffee in the living room to ease into breakfast.

Very Good

My wife and I just had a great a three night stay. Nice comfortable room, lots of space and excellent bed. Easy walk to just about everything in town. The gals who served breakfast were very friendly, cookies and coffee available 24/7. The only downside, or maybe I should say, warning, is the shower. If someone uses uses water, hot or cold, it will definitely cause the shower temperature to change! I talked to Gaynette (the owner) about this and understand she plans some plumbing updates within the year. With that improvement, I would definitely change my rating to 5 stars. We'll be going back again and would not hesitate to recommend to others!
