This was our first bed and breakfast experience and we didn't know what to expect. We were exhausted when we arrived the afternoon of our check in. This stop was essentially the center of our 9 state, 11 day trip. I've loved this house since I first saw it in the movie; I was 10. So upon arrival geek mode turned on and I felt like I was seeing it again through a child's eyes. Nervously, we approached the door and rang the bell. About 2 seconds later, Sabra appeared and we weren't nervous any longer. She showed us around, gave us a dinner suggestion, and then left us alone to do our thing (Which unfortunately for one of us was to immediately fall asleep after dinner and leave the other bouncing around the room Phish Style.) The rooms, we had 2, were cozy. One had the soaking tub, the other had the balcony. Everything was clean and comfortable. As we were taking the train our first day, we had to get up at the crack of dawn. I'm not sure how she does it but Sabra had fresh coffee, scones, jam, eggs, sausage, fruit, tea, and just about anything else you'd need for breakfast ready. Oh, and when I stumbled in looking like I could go dark Willow at any second, Sabra had a smile on her face like she was actually happy to be up that early. I may never understand 'morning people' but I sure am grateful they exist! The following morning was exactly the same, except we had French Toast and bacon. I cannot wait to go back and visit Sabra and have her delicious breakfast again. I cannot imagine anyone not falling in love with this place.

We won't stay there again. We made reservations several weeks in advance and stayed two nights. The host asked what time we would like to have breakfast, we requested 6am. No, it had to be at 8am because the host wouldn't be up at 6am. The first breakfast, the host, went to the grocery store to get bacon for breakfast (shouldn't you have already bought it?) She came back with breakfast burritos from the grocery store, that were not all that good. 2nd breakfast we decided to leave early and drive to Chama where we had to pay for breakfast, because we didn't want another grocery store burrito. Hopefully the new owner will read this review and improve the service.

My wife and I were headed to the Great Sand Dunes on the 4th of July. The hotels in Alamosa, CO were booked, so we happened across the Indiana Jones B&B. As a fan of the movie, it was awesome to stay in the house that was in "The Last Crusade." It was well worth the extra drive (about an hour to the Sand Dunes). The atmosphere was very casual. Roxanne (the innkeeper) was super friendly and very helpful. Overall the house is older and could use some updates, however the bathrooms are newer and the bed was very comfortable. The TV is also new, and the channel selection was great. The great thing about this hotel is that we have a story to tell for the rest of our lives. We definitely plan on stopping by in the future.
