Ajyad Bridge

What you need to know

Originally built in 1963, the pedestrian bridge is used during the Hajj’s devil-stoning ritual. The design allows pilgrims to hurl stones at three Jamrah pillars from either the bridge or the ground. The bridge has since been expanded.

This bridge is essential in easing the transferring process of the pilgrims from the squares to the first floor directly and vice versa, so as to ease the congestion on the doors of the ground floor of the Grand Mosque.
