Service on Fathers day was not good. Waiter did not know what was on menu. Dinner was served covered in gravy when kitchen asked not to. Meant 10 min wait for dinner by which time rest of family finished. All meals charged for on bill. They got no tip.. service was not good and the waiter knew it.

Very disappointing. My wife and I have been staying at the Skylon for the past couple days for our five year anniversary and will check out tomorrow. The hotel boasts a four star rating, but we have yet to identify a single redeeming quality. The staff is very courteous - that said, we have been locked out of our room every time we left requiring new keys to be made (and a four-story trip back downstairs). No real explaination why, other than the keys being “sensitive”. Additionally, the evening we arrived, I requested a couple bags of decaf tea. I offered to go pick them up, but they generously offered to provide them to our room. An hour later, I went down to guest services and it turns out they had forgotten the room number. No worries, it happens. The next day, I again request two more bags of decaf as we arrived back in the evening from our day at the Cliffs of Moher. They didn’t have any available at the desk, but wrote down our room number and promised it would be delivered immediately. Same issue, no delivery. We just gave up on tea that evening instead of going to find it again. As stated, the staff has been very professional when communicating with us. They obviously cannot do anything about Dublin’s public transportation, but they were not equipped to provide change for the bus, which is problematic given the hotel is no where near any city attractions. It would be a 50 minute walk to Trinity College, or most City Centre attractions. The bus is the best option, but requires €2.85 per person per single way trip. That’s €5.70 one-way and the bus doesn’t take credit or bills. The hotel being so far from everything should be more mindful of this fact to prevent headaches for people staying. Overall, we expected this hotel to be the highlight of our trip but it nearly ruined Dublin for us. We much preferred the three star holiday inn express in Edinburgh, and would have stayed at one in City Centre (for less money, and far better location) if we could do it over again. The hotel is overpriced, underwhelming, and simply too far from city attractions to warrant a return stay. I would advise you look elsewhere.

The staff is very helpful. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was no air conditioning. We were tired after our overnight flight and slept under a fan. Nice bar and resturant. I wouldn't visit in August. We are here in May and it is in low 50s F.

Very clean hotel. Nice and warm with LOTS of places to eat across the road. Bed and pillow were hard as rocks! Also there was an electrical breaker box right on the wall outside our bathroom that hummed all night long (can't say if that's the same for all rooms but see attached picture). That coupled with the hard bead and pillow made for very little sleep. The shower was incredible. Best of all were the complimentary Keogh's Chrisps in the room! They didn't last long. The only drawback here was that there were only 3 bags! I could have eaten all 3 myself!!!

The place itself was fine. The staff was very pleasant and the rooms clean. It looks like they are doing some upgrades. They would've gotten 4 stars, but we booked this room in large part because it seemed like a decent place and claims to have an airport shuttle. It definitely does not, so we ended up paying another $50+ to get to and from the airport. We would have booked another place or taken the shuttle into consideration for pricing. All in all this place is fine, but I'm very disappointed about the inaccurate listing.

While we didn't have the greatest view from our room, our stay was fantastic. Everything from the cleanliness of the room and friendliness of the staff to the softness of the towels was great! I doubt I'll ever be in Dublin again, but if I return, I'll stay at the skylon again.

We dropped in here this morning on spec, surprised to find it open, to the public. We were greeted by a very friendly concierge. Hot pots of tea and coffee were ordered, with hot scones, jam and cream. The staff were busy preparing afternoon tea. A very pleasant surprise on a cold St.Stephen's day morning. We'll be back.

Lovely hotel with a very nice restaurant. We stayed in two quad rooms that had an adjoining door so it was great for us as a large group. The staff were very friendly. It's in a great location with plenty of buses from both town and the airport. The room was lovely and clean and there was complementary crisps and bottled water in the room. The price was also very reasonable. 👍👍

The lobby makes it look really nice, but the room was so small, you could barely move around. Everything was clean though. It was early September and still warm during the day, but you can't control the thermostat in your room, there's no A/C and the heat is automatically turned on at 7 pm. The hotel is a 45 minute walk away from the city center where most of the restaurants and shops are, and when we asked the front desk to call a taxi, they were rude.
